I think you can read whichever you prefer first, HJ. Do you want to see more about Charles and Mel’s past and then more forward or read their most recent adventures and then the early years of their marriage? I think both would work and be interesting.
Downloaded it this morning! Glad to see it reasonably priced too. I don’t understand why some kindle books are the same price as the paperback.
Of course, I would’ve paid it for Mask, but it still a nice surprise to see the price for it.
In sad news, the Borders store by my house is closing. Now I’ll have to find a new ‘happy place’.
I’ve been so busy with school that I’m neglecting the rest of the world; so I’m a bit off on the release, but I’m positively thrilled that the book is OUT… Still waiting for my V.Waltz to come next Friday. Which to read first, now that my love is the question?! I’m just gonna be patient (or practice it for once) and finish my schoolwork early so I could go back, reread the first two books and see where it takes me!
Whoooaa, just purchased the book about a nanosecond ago and I’m curious; am I the only one shell-shocked at the LOW price of this book?! I hope it comes out in print too, always have to have my printed copy!
Patience is not now, nor has ever been my virtue; I totally slipped and read the first chapter of the “The Mask of Night” and you know what? I’m not even ashamed! I mean, come one, this is the girl who stayed up a full night and read book 1 and 2 back-to-back without a care for the chaotic pace of life several months back! I’m hopeless and will finish the book tonight (after writing my essay of course) and will go back to reread the others (maybe all 3) until Friday’s release.
I’m excited about the resurrection of the earlier books and the coming of the next… ^.^
I gave in and downloaded the app to the pc. (I didn’t think it would be up to the task but it worked.) Downloaded the book as well, but am holding off reading it just yet; I had hoped to read Vienna Waltz first. It’s wonderful to have two new stories from you a couple of days apart!
Just gotta tell you I got my copy of “Vienna Waltz” Monday afternoon and was kind of shocked it came so early, but I haven’t gotten to it yet. I literally had to bar myself from the book, otherwise I’ll never get any schoolwork done! I cannot wait to go on an adventure with Mel/Suzanne and Charles/Malcolm!
By-the-by, I finished reading “The Mask of Night” well into the early morning of Monday — I barely slept for 2 hours before I had to go to school, but it was well worth it! No worries though, I can function on 4 hours sleep faily, so don’t feel guilty!! You truly are a teaser; reading all the snidbits about the storyline told in “Vienna Waltz” was both amusing and frustrating, considering I didn’t have the book at the time!
Once again, you’ve done an excellent job with keeping your readers in on the intrigue of mysteries and the power of human relationships! ~ Linhie
So glad you found “Mask of Night,” Ashley! Actually, my current print release, “Vienna Waltz,” is part of the series. It’s a prequel, set in 1814. My new publisher wanted the characters to have new names, so they’re called Malcolm and Suzanne Rannoch, but rest assured they are the same people as Charles and Mélanie Fraser (you an see more about this on the FAQ on my website). A follow up book, “Imperial Scandal” (set around Waterloo), will be published next year, and I’m starting on the next book in the series. I do eventually plan to continue on beyond “Mask of Night,” hopefully at print books, but I will go the e-book only route if necessary.
