I was out and about yesterday checking for The Berkeley Square Affair in books stores and signing copies. It’s sometimes hard for a writer to believe her book is actually out in places she doesn’t see it :-). The wonderful Lauren Willig (whose marvelous The Ashford Affair I was excited to find next to Berkeley Square at Books Inc. in the Opera Plaza in San Francisco yesterday) encourages readers to post post pictures of her books “in the wild” on Facebook. In the spirit of imitation being the sincerest form of flattery, I encourage readers to do the same with Berkeley Square, here or on Facebook. If you happen to see it and have a camera, snap a pic and post it. If not, just leave a comment about where you saw it.
Love the comments so far about the book. Feel free to leave more in this thread as well.

One of my joys when I’m processing the bookstore’s receiving is to take pictures of books as I unpack them and tag the author on Twitter. So far, I only do it for my favourites, but I’m thinking it wouldn’t offend if I expand the practice just a bit. 🙂

I think it would make the day for authors if you did! The pic you posted on Twitter certainly made my day!

Sadly your books aren’t available in bookshops here but they are on those bookshop’s websites, where you place an order and they order it from the US. Unfortunately that means that you have to know about their existence first. I am going to the book chat session at my local library today and I was hoping to have Berkeley Square so I could give it a good plug, but it hasn’t worked out that way. So I will take The Paris Affair instead so that I can drum up some new readers for you. Several of the people there read Anne Perry and Kate Moron so I know they will love your books.

I love it – a personal salesperson “down under” for Tracy. What a great idea, Suzanne. My copy won’t be here until next week because I bundled it with ….now, do not laugh…a miniature of Highclere Castle from Downton Abbey fame. It saves shipping to bundle with Amazon and the little castle just got released. Now you can have a chuckle – I really am crazy.

No Lynne you aren’t crazy. I think I am though. I can’t remember Highclere Castle at all. I think I must be having a menopause moment. Who lived there?

Good grief, I am having a bad day today. I’ve just realized that Highclere Castle is Downton Abbey. Daa!! That sounds great I will have to look it up on Amazon.

I *love* that Berkley Square Affair is being packaged with a miniature of the Crawley family estate! I’m honored :-).

Suzanne – I have those menopause moments all the time. The Earl of Caernarven lives there in real life….but yes, it’s DA in tv land. And Tracy, you’re so cute… I think the little castle lights up though not sure. I put it on my wish list but waited to get it (since it was only $10) until I ordered your book and another one for free shipping. It didn’t get released until this week – hence the bundle. I know you two are laughing at me …I can hear you:)).

Thanks, Suzanne! It’s wonderful of you to do that! Word of mouth is so important to a writer’s finding readers!

We get books in our stores that are published in Aus or the UK as a matter of course but US books are almost non existent outside cyberspace. So I am on a sort of one woman crusade to bring my favourite US authors to the attention of people here. That includes Tracy, C.S. Harris and Lauren Willig. It did include Deanna Raybourn but she has dropped of my list this year for the best of reasons. City Of Jasmine has been printed and released here in an Australian edition. Success!!! One down three to go.

Oh, if I lived a little closer I’d join your campaign – go for it!!!

Thanks so much for your efforts, Suzanne – it means a lot! I love the other authors I’m included with. And super exciting about City of Jasmine!!

The good news here is that the Historical Novel Society (I’ve been a member of the UK branch for many years) started a Sydney chapter here a few months ago. I am keeping a close eye on their website to see if they do anything social as their UK and US branches do. Then I can get on the train and go to Sydney, hopefully meet some more kindred spirits, which is always a good thing, and spread the word about your novels as well.
